I was really looking forward to photographing this Vancouver Island farm Wedding.
The moment I arrived, I knew this was going to be a real old-style family affair. It was perfect.
Everyone was busy cooking up a storm. Friends were chopping freshly picked produce. The women were in charge of the kitchen. The groom's father was roasting a lamb from the pasture. His sister baked the Wedding cake, and lovingly decorated it with beautiful flowers and fruit. It tasted as good as it looked. Bouquets were picked early in the morning with the dew still on the petals. Everything on the table was organic and harvested from the land. Everyone pitched in clearing the plates.
This Wedding was about friends, family, love and laughter.
Kids and dogs roamed the homestead. Nobody fussed when the clothes got a bit grubby. The kids were told though to stop chasing the sheep!
It was beautiful to be present when this warm couple tied the knot. The bride wore a coat over her gown that had family significance to her. I love that she honoured the women in her family this way.
It was such a treat to be part of this beautiful Wedding day.
I have a small nut tree growing in my yard that was generously given to me as I was leaving.
I will always think of this lovely couple, and this wonderful family when I water it.
Thank-you for the perfect Vancouver Island wedding photography experience!
